Class / Camp Description
Pre-ballet & tap class for boys & girls at Children’s Ballet Theater in East Memphis offers children a warm, encouraging and fun atmosphere with our beautiful traditions of classical ballet using French terminology. Each class includes pre-ballet, tap, creative movement, fun with ballet props, and choreography. Students will learn dances set to classical ballet music as well as kids’ ballet songs. This spring semester’s theme is Swan Lake! Each semester and new year the syllabus is changed to insure that students have new material. Mom or dad are invited into the studio room the first day until your child is comfortable, and thereafter there is an observation window. PKJK students have a parent demo of classwork at the end of fall semester and a very special in-studio CBT Recital in costume skirts and flower wreaths in the spring. Some semester offerings listed include tap dance during a portion of class time for about 10 minutes each time. Visit our Information/Dress Code page for class attire.
Cancellation Policy
75% minus any credit card processing fee refund is given if a student withdraws within 24 hours prior to a second class during the Spring and Fall Semester. No refunds will be given after the second class except in the case of a physician-verified illness. No refunds are given for COVID closure. In the event of COVID closure we offer excellent online class or camp. No refunds for Summer camps / classes unless requested three weeks prior to the camp / class start date. At that time a 75% minus any credit card processing fee refund will be granted. There is no pro-rating and no makeup classes. Tuition is not transferable to another session. Students cannot attend class until full payment is made. There is a $35 fee for cancelled checks. CBT reserves the right to cancel classes due to inclement weather conditions or teacher illness. In the event of a weather condition, you will receive an email. Please check your email. There are no makeup classes for inclement weather conditions.
