Ballet & Contemporary with Partnering

Class / Camp Description

In this ballet and contemporary dance workshop camp with partnering, dancers will hone their technique with the elegant art of French and Russian classical ballet that emphasizes beautiful hands, arms and head movements, big jumps and multiple turns. Included daily are ballet classes, pointe work (or pre-pointe) contemporary dance and coaching in classical choreography. Each workshop culminates in a final performance that will feature choreography from Don Quixote as well as dances such as the Doll, Russian Dance, Clara solo & Snow Pas, Snow Queen, Dew Drop Fairy from the annual Clara & the Nutcracker at the Cannon Center. In this special workshop we invite professional male dancers from the community to partner our student dancers in the fun and elegant work of pas de deux. The class will be held for two of the workshop days, during partnering class. The instructor will start with the basics and move to more advanced moves including walking and bowing, pirouettes, basic lifts and advanced lifts. Dancers will also learn some of the choreography of the famed Don Quixote Pas de Deux. Everyone will show some of the steps they have learned in the partnering at the end of the workshop. Cancelation Policy

75% refund is given if a student withdraws within 24 hours prior to a second class during the Spring and Fall Semester. No refunds will be given after the second class except in the case of a physician-verified illness. No refunds are given for COVID closure. In the event of COVID closure we offer excellent online class or camp. No refunds for Summer camps / classes unless requested three weeks prior to the camp / class start date. At that time a 75% refund will be granted. There is no pro-rating and no makeup classes. Tuition is not transferable to another session. Students cannot attend class until full payment is made. There is a $30 fee for cancelled checks. CBT reserves the right to cancel classes due to inclement weather conditions or teacher illness. In the event of a weather condition, you will receive an email. Please check your email. There are no makeup classes for inclement weather conditions.
